We definitely have a soft spot for the forward control Jeeps. Somewhat quirky and awkward looking, the forward controls are a definite attention getter no matter where they go. While we’ve seen some pretty cool ones recently, we’ve never run across one in this configuration before. Built on the FC-170 chassis, the M-677 was a military issues crew cab truck with total production numbers estimated between 300 to 700. This Jeep has had only a handful of owners and has just over 84k miles on it. While it originally came with a diesel engine, the truck now has a 289 cubic inch Ford V8 with 3-speed manual transmission. According to the seller, the engine runs great and the tranny shifts smooth, but there are some other areas that are going to need attention. We think the Jeep would be a great restoration project, although it will come with some definite challenges as parts are scarce at best. The seller has it listed on eBay and there are just over 3 days left on the auction. The current high bid is $7,500 and the reserve has not yet been met.
