Want to take your overland game to the next level? Check out this 1980 Unimog U1300L Expedition Camper ($55,000) we spotted for sale in Colorado. The rig was built by Darrin Fink, owner of RUF Inc. Fink is widely known for his expedition rigs built on Mitsubishi chassis. According to the seller, “the Unimog has an OM352A turbo-charged engine in it that only has 131 hours on it. The chassis shows 4690 km. The cab has been modified with a raised roof to allow for additional head room, as well as a full complement of additional gauges, switches and radios.” The camper features a 60″ x 84″ sleeping area, an Esper heater for heat and hot water, propane cooktop, and a 40 gallon fresh water tank. You’ll also find a fridge/freezer unit, dinette seating for three, and a sink and cassette toilet. All of the Unimog’s camper systems run independently of the truck so you can easily remove it if needed. While not included, the seller has high-speed axles, an overdrive, working gears, air-conditioning, an auxiliary fuel tank, and many tires available for purchase as well.
